ABEKA: HOW TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING
Teacher Guide is a day-by-day lesson plan for teaching and reviewing. Answers to the textbook in science and history of older editions may be found in the teacher guide/curriculum. Teacher Editions contain a student text with answers included. Also, a scope and sequence and sample lesson plans. Again, answers for older editions of science and history may be found in the Teacher Guide Curriculum. Teacher Key contains student text or booklet with just the answers, no teachers help.
Curriculum/Lesson Plans includes guides for parents, curriculum daily lesson plan explanations, subject descriptions, procedures and more.
Text Answer Key contains the answers to the text questions so you do not have to read through the entire chapter in order to know the answers. Especially helpful if you have more than one student or are short on time. Economical in comparison to the Teachers Editions, but no Teacher’s Helps. Test Key gives the questions and the answers to the student test booklet.
Quiz Key gives the questions found in the student quiz book and the answers to the questions. Student Text contains just the student book. There are no answers to the exercises or Teacher’s Help in this book.
WAYS TO CUT COST USING ABEKA CURRICULUM (Not for Beginners)
- Make up your own test by locating important information in the textbook such as subtitles, bold lettering, and words in italic, pictures, underlined words or maps. Quiz on the vocabulary of the chapter.2. Only buy a test key (instead of the test) and give the test orally, or type up the tests yourself. This can also be done with the quizzes.3. Instead of testing, ask the children to summarize what he has read, or make an outline, give a presentation to other family members, make a poster, put on a play, etc.4. Use older editions and save money. Some facts never change (Old World History). Older editions are generally 50 – 75 % off retail price.
